Director - Site Operations - Pentair - Hanover Park


Job description
The Site Operations Director will provide overall leadership and direction for assembly, quality, maintenance, shipping/receiving and warehousing, safety and materials, ensure purchased materials are delivered to the plant on the specified delivery date and implement cost savings initiatives to reduce purchased component costs. This role is also responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and control total plant inventory, as well as leading continuous improvement efforts in manufacturing, warehousing, and receiving functions, safety, quality, throughput, delivery, and operating costs.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
Participate in the strategic planning, budgeting and long range planning process for the Business Unit
Coordinate the work and priorities of Manufacturing, Shipping & Receiving, Materials, Lean, Production Scheduling and Inventory Control to ensure that they meet company objectives.
Coordinate activities between all site departments including R&D, Customer Service, and Finance
Provide emphasis in promoting both cost reductions ‑ efforts and material price control with major vendors.
Promote good public relations for the Company within the community.

Manage operations improvement efforts to reduce operating costs, improve quality, and reduce inventories.
Implement the Pentair Integrated Management System (PIMS) and develop operational measures to meet strategic and operating goals.
Insure all products are delivered to customers’ specified delivery date and on-time deliveries are at 95%.
Manage labor utilization and manage operations within budget.
Prepare technical and progress reportsand manage capital budget for site
Develop, interpret, apply, and enforce company safety regulations and operating policies and procedures.
Facilitate teamwork and continuous improvement within Operations. Maintain effective employee relations and establish effective communications resulting in high employee morale.
Focus on Root Cause and Counter Measures. Develop corrective actions to eliminate issue root cause.
Evaluate and develop plans to develop and improve the skills, knowledge, and abilities of first line managers, supervisors, and schedulers/planners.
Other duties as assigned.
Support and maintain nondiscriminatory practices in accordance with the Division Affirmative Action Program.

Desired Skills and Experience
Educational Requirements: BS or BA degree plus 10-15 years experience in manufacturing

Additional Requirements Include:
- Previous experience in demonstrating positive leadership in areas such as finance, manufacturing and materials.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Experience with change management and driving continuous improvement activities.
- Demonstrates clear understanding of all tasks and processes within manufacturing.
- Has a high level of technical competence in employee management, assembly operations, continuous improvement techniques, quality systems, replenishment systems, Lean Manufacturing strategies, and manufacturing technologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy.
