Summary of Responsibilities
Ellie Mae is seeking an experienced leader to join the marketing leadership team and serve as our Director, Marketing Operations. He/she own all processes related to marketing productivity, data management, marketing technology selection, marketing systems’ administration, budgeting and planning, and reporting and analytics. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of creating excellent marketing operations that enable predictability, scalability, and efficiency and possess a unique blend of metrics-driven business ownership, marketing and operations acumen, leadership, agility, and communications skills.
The position is based in Pleasanton, CA and will report to the SVP of Marketing. The Director of Marketing Operations & Analytics


Primary Responsibilities & Objectives
Define, develop and deliver marketing measurement approach against current industry best practices
Construct key marketing reporting mechanisms, including dashboards, reports and funnel metrics
Develop a set of reports to measure campaign performance, identify trends and measure ROI of marketing efforts. Inform campaign & creative decisions by analyzing historical campaign performance.
Ongoing analytics delivery to provide marketing and sales with insights for better decision making
Marketing technology infrastructure ownership (selection, project management and implementation, administration, governance and roadmap development), including collaboration with IT, sales and other functions as needed.
Marketing data ownership/management, as well as alignment with relevant corporate data initiatives such as Master Data Management and Data Warehouse
Ensure closed-loop reporting, owning all integration points, API, and program builds for data synchs
Marketing process leadership, working in conjunction with impacted marketing and sales functions
Analyze prospect and customer segmentation and lifetime value to guide marketing spend
Co-Evaluate and implement third party solutions to enhance, fill-out automation needs (dynamic content, web tracking…) and ensure fit with current platforms
Work directly with the Sales leadership team to prioritize and align marketing resources to best support sales pipeline goals.
Partner with Finance to drive annual strategic planning and budgeting process and ensure effective resource allocation. Maintain and manage the annual marketing budget.
Work with the Marketing Leadership Team to develop a standard set of weekly and quarterly metrics to measure the health of the pipeline, and the effectiveness of marketing program investment.
Experience with Account Based Marketing a plus
Act as Chief of Staff to SVP of Marketing.

Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum of 10 years of marketing operations experience with a B2B software company
Superior analytical capabilities
Previous experience working across Marketing and Sales to define and develop scalable business processes designed to drive revenue.
Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience in managing cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Highly motivated, collaborative, and a deep passion for success.
Deep knowledge and hands on experience with Salesforce.com, Eloqua and Demandbase (or similar marketing technologies) from the systems’ design, database management and administration perspectives.
Demonstrable knowledge of marketing best practices
Strong team player; comfortable working cross function
Impeccable communications skills
Passion for marketing metrics and process improvement
Ability to thrive in a fast paced, high growth, entrepreneurial environment
BA / BS Degree; MBA desirable
