Director - Marketing Latuda - Sunovion Pharmaceuticals - Boston
The individual will report to the Senior Director, Marketing and will lead/supervise some members of Latuda ® Healthcare Professional (HCP) marketing team to maximize net revenue and contribution for LATUDA. This person is accountable for developing brand strategy and executing the complete tactical plan across psychiatry, primary care, institutions, and nurse practitioner/physician assistant customer groups. We seek an experienced marketer and an exceptional leader with proven team engagement to become a core member of the LATUDA marketing team.
•Assist in the development and execution of the healthcare professional marketing plan
•Develop and lead all channel related efforts, e.g., retail, VA, institutional, and emerging markets
•Engage team members and capitalize on individual strengths to enhance overall team performance while creating an environment of success
•Contribute to the brand strategy process
•Develop and execute forecasts and budgets within established financial goals for HCP marketing
•Use organizational and project management skills to manage effective implementation of cross-functional operating/tactical plan
•Utilize strong communication skills to effectively communicate the HCP marketing plan to the entire commercial organization
•Participate in the development and management of key customer and thought leader relationships
•Manage direct report(s) through establishing annual objectives and developmental plans. Provide ongoing evaluation and feedback to ensure accomplishment of objectives.
•Compliance with Sunovion internal processes regarding legal, regulatory and financial policies and procedures
Desired Skills and Experience
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred.
•Minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical/medical industry experience with: a) 4+ years product marketing or marketing-related experience (e.g. marketing research, product strategist) required, and b) 2 years direct pharmaceutical/medical sales experience preferred
•Experience in the psychiatry/CNS therapeutic area is highly preferred
•Exceptional leadership experience required, with at least 2 years of people management and proven marketing development and career progression of team members
•Ability to solve problems that include many decision makers and carry several options for solutions, as well as persuasive written and verbal communication skills
•Experience in development and implementation of brand plans
•Must be a strong strategic thinker, able to assess a range of variables including market trends and opportunities, competition, research progress, etc., in order to craft strong near and longer term marketing strategies. This requires strong analytical skills combined with a strong market orientation to identify breakthrough opportunities.
•Must be able to foster cross-functional alignment of the sales organization with (through influence) marketing and managed markets teams and create a disciplined, ambitious and collaborative business. He/she will be able to focus an organization on execution and delivery, with a drive and passion for winning.
•Comprehensive understanding of legal and regulatory issues impacting pharmaceutical product marketing as well as the dynamics driving the US health care environment
•Able to integrate business knowledge, financial knowledge and analyses of available information to make sound business decisions. Can apply financial analysis to build business cases that drive quality decision making and management processes.
•Demonstrated understanding of program/project management processes and tools
•Ability to interact widely and effectively within the company (i.e., on an interdepartmental and interdisciplinary basis) as well as with our parent company
•Strong communication skills with ability to communicate with all levels within Sunovion.
•Ability to develop solutions to complex problems requiring the use of ingenuity and creativity and to formulate approaches and strategies which may fall outside of historical norms
•Experience in facilitation, mentoring, and personnel development, with proven teamwork/collaboration skills to continue building bench strength in the organization
•Ability to travel up to 25% of time.
