Director - Business Unit Operations - Applied Materials - Santa Clara

Job description
Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Works with Continuous Improvement Leader and all Workstream leaders to aid in the development and execution of CI level strategy, goals and priorities


• Leads Operations and Policy Deployment (OPD) to establish training and certification framework development and deployment

• Establishes operating rhythm and cadence to drive key Corp as well as Global Continuous Improvement deliverables

• Provides leadership and direction for leveraging external industry benchmark practices and internal BKMs to drive cross-Workstream synergies and institutionalize changes

• Tracks overall financial and non-financial progress along with all key internal metrics

• Serves as key liaison for GCI with HR and Finance to drive internal operational efficiency

• Drive internal and external communication of key CI progress, status and issues to targeted stakeholders and general employees

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Industrial, or Equivalent Discipline).

• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification from recognized Organization (Certification Body or Company) is a plus

• 3 plus years of experience working with Lean Six Sigma methodologies within Operations or Manufacturing or Engineering or Quality or Sourcing departments

• Leadership experience in the areas of Project Management and Policy Deployment

• Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and oral

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

• Experience in CI (GB/BB/Lean/etc.) training delivery is a plus

• Good analytical and visualization skills

• Ability to transform the data to actionable communications and presentations

• Hands on knowledge of Six Sigma / Quality tools to influence Bus

• Product development experience

• Previous experience with driving change in culture

• Ability to share past knowledge to help Quality and Reliability team strategy execution

• Technical background that can understand Applied Materials products and able to communicate with BU partners
