Head - Corporate Applications - Invesco - Atlanta


Job description

Job Purpose (Job Summary):
Responsible for leading all IT services and support provided to all Invesco Facilities, Finance, and HR applications and business partners. This position will provide overall corporate applications strategy, as well as resource and project planning, management, and delivery. This position will coordinate and facilitate all technology solutions for Invesco corporate client groups around the globe.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:
Interface with the Chief Technology Officer, Department Heads, other IT Senior Managers and other key clients to align IT efforts with business strategy. Ensures project deadlines and budgetary objectives are met.
Establish, monitor and maintain IT SLAs with corporate clients. Coordinates with other IT managers to ensure infrastructure and support services can accommodate business growth and integration.
As project and resource manager, this individual will develop and direct overall IT plans required to complete all corporate application projects.
Prepare and deliver presentations to all levels of the organization to communicate IT strategy, activities, capabilities and status.
Prepare and monitor IT budgets and allocations for corporate applications.
Provide skilled, knowledgeable expertise in corporate applications best practices.
Interview, hire, orient, train, evaluate, motivate, discipline and when necessary, discharges subordinate personnel.
Contribute to the strategic direction of IT Services by maintaining current knowledge of technological advancements and trends through networking, conferences and industry/technology publications.

Desired Skills and Experience
Work Experience / Knowledge:
At least 10 years experience with managing and delivering enterprise application projects in a complex organization with multiple (preferably global) locations
Experience working in the financial services/investment management industry a plus
Experience working in a consulting organization preferred
Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:
Exceptional communication skills – ability to communicate effectively with many different levels of our organization, from individual contributors and small technical teams up to senior managing directors
Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively lead, interact and communicate with a variety of individuals at all technical and business levels is required.
Must possess a solid understanding of software and/or hardware systems used in assigned area.
Must understand software selection, software development and information technology operations, then translate this knowledge into initiatives which benefits a global asset management organization
Must have the ability to manage projects, establish priorities, meet deadlines and concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced, demanding work environment
Knowledge of agile and lean project development processes is a plus
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Must have the ability to manage consulting and vendor relationships
Proficient with project management and productivity tools including Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Formal Education: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science preferred or equivalent years of direct experience required. Master’s degree in Business Administration or Information Technology is also preferred.
Working Conditions:
Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust and temperatures.
The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects of up to 10 pounds is also necessary.
Normally works a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment.
Hours may include evenings and/or weekends and may include 24 hour a day on call support by pager and/or cell phone.
