Director - Sales Training and Development - Aerohive Networks - Sunnyvale
Job description
The Director of Sales Training & Development will be responsible for the following:
Develops and implements sales training curriculum using multiple methodologies and platforms that support organizational priorities
Ensures consistent sales on-boarding procedures company wide
Consistently evaluates and improves training and educational content, assesses needs and recommends changes as appropriate
Demonstrates an understanding of adult learning theories, instructional design principles and proven track record of creating and implementing sustainable learning solutions
Leads the design of curriculum for new classes and continually improves the design and content of current classes
Project management of the technical training program (does not require curriculum development of the technical training program)
Partners with the Field Sales, Technical Training and Sales/Marketing leadership, to determine areas of opportunity and develops programs which can be customized to fill those needs
Oversees high-visibility training programs, including:
Orientation and onboarding
Sales “boot camp” training
Curriculum development of Modular online and face to face Aerohive/Channel sales training
Program management of Aerohive Technical Training and Channel Certification Training
Desired Skills and Experience
8+ years of experience in a combination of sales, sales training, sales enablement and program management experience
BA/BS Degree Required
Operational process and task execution
Ability to travel 30% of the time (US & International)
Experience in building and analyzing targeted requirements based on identified customers needs
Ability to manage across boundaries measuring with data-driven KPI’s to drive operational excellence
Strong communicator and able to train and brief either in one-to-one or one-to-many situations, especially with C level or management executives.
Team worker with a demonstrable track record of working with initiative both within and across functions
Objection handling – the ability to resolve technical hurdles to adoption
The candidate would ideally have extensive experience in implementation, execution and management of sales training for enterprise networking.
The best candidate would have deep experience in deploying and measuring the performance of scalable sales training programs via eLearning, remote instructor lead and classroom training as well as experience in managing internal and outsourced vendors to provide customized solutions for specific needs.
