Director - Corporate Communications - Kaspersky Lab - Woburn


Job description

The Head of Corporate Communications manages, creates and implements corporate communications, internal communications and public relations strategies, plans, messages and press materials in support of Kaspersky Lab’s business objectives in the North American region. The Director of Corporate Communications works closely with the global and local marketing teams (B2B, B2C, Product), threat research teams, market intelligence teams and local sales teams to ensure messaging matches current communications efforts.

The Director, Corporate Communications, North America reports to the Global Director of Corporate Communications and also works closely with the Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab, North America.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Primary contact with Corporate Communications team at Company Headquarters;
Regional messaging development and management;
Set quarterly strategic PR direction with regional sales and marketing heads;
Ongoing communication with business leaders (B2B, B2C);
Direct internal communications efforts;
Crisis communications management;
Metrics and measurement implementation;
Manage overall public relations strategy;
Work very closely with the local Social Media team;
Manage the Corporate Communications team;
Manage the Internal Communications function within North America;
Oversee content development cross-functionally for messaging accuracy;
Serve as primary North American media contact internally;
Develop and edit press releases and other communications materials;
Provide strategic public relations counsel to Kaspersky Lab’s North American executive team;
Provide messaging direction and counsel;
Develop and implement campaigns to generate corporate and product awareness, ensuring consistency in messaging by working closely with product and marketing teams;
Oversee press tours and media presence at tradeshows;
Provide on-site support at tradeshows and company events, as needed;
Serve as a Kaspersky Lab spokesperson as needed;
Serve as part of the executive team of North America;
Work collaboratively with sales and marketing teams to define messages that meet communications goals; and
Understanding of the Company’s business, competitive markets, services and technology/business trends that impact them

Desired Skills and Experience
Extensive experience in marketing, public relations, events, media relations, corporate communications and internal communications.
Proven ability to drive a team in attaining quality media coverage.
Strategic thinker who can take global plans and transform them locally, taking into account local needs.
Strategic pitching experience to develop story ideas to successfully attain media coverage
Established relationships with business, security, IT and consumer technology reporters and editors
Ability to independently manage multiple projects and quickly change gears in a dynamic, deadline-driven, high stakes environment
Ability to work very closely with senior management
Experience in developing communications plans and messaging strategy
Self-motivated, strategic thinker and problem-solver
Strong writing skills
Bachelors degree in public relations, communication, writing and/or relevant work experience at a PR agency or corporate setting
Experience in using PR monitoring/reporting tools necessary: Vocus, Cision Media Source
Experience at a PR agency preferred
Experience working in a global environment preferred
10-15 years communications experience
Up to 30% travel required
