Vice President - Health Economics - Greater New York Hospital Association - New York

Job description
The Vice President, Health Economics, will report to the Senior Vice President, Health Economics & Finance. Duties and functions will include:

Develop quantitative policy positions and proposals concerning hospital and health system reimbursement, performance measurement and evaluation, and population health management.
Develop approaches to monitoring and analyzing federal, state, and local health care trends and general economic trends affecting health care.
Develop tools to support GNYHA members’ internal planning and policy analytics.
Prepare and present written and oral communications to senior federal and state administration officials, the GNYHA Board of Governors, executives in GNYHA member organizations, and other large audiences.
Manage and mentor senior and junior professionals.

Desired Skills and Experience
Master’s degree required, Ph.D. a plus.
10+ years working in a public or private sector health care-related organization delivering innovative, client-centered analyses within prescribed timeframes.
Ability to manage senior and junior professionals, and to form and collaborate with teams of colleagues, both within and outside the organization.
Outstanding written work and oral presentations for senior-level audiences—both technical and nontechnical—including clear, concise explanations of complex technical concepts and analyses.
Strong background in quantitative analysis to answer research or policy questions.
Expertise in identifying appropriate quantitative methods and data sources, and in constructing and working with large data sets.
Strong background in advanced statistical methods (e.g., multivariate regressions, instrumental variable analysis); experience using statistical software packages (SAS, SPSS, or R) a plus.
Advanced, state-of-the-art skills in Excel.
Reputation for the utmost integrity in analytical work and compliance with data confidentiality and security requirements.
