POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Director of Implementation is a member of the executive management team reporting to the Divisional VP of Finance & Operations responsible for setting the strategic direction of the company. Leadership responsibilities of this position include the development and execution of departmental plans containing tactical details that support the company’s strategic direction and financial goals.

This position increases management and leadership depth within the company by mentoring and developing staff and manages all aspects of the company’s Implementation department for Analytics. The Implementation and Professional Services group are responsible for customer (supplier and retailer) deliverables. They will manage both core product implementation as well as Professional Services engagements. The Senior Director of Implementation is dedicated to ensuring continuous process improvements and streamlined customer implementations, ultimately turning projects into revenue.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct management, people, process, and technology, of the Retailer Implementation, Product Implementation, and Professional Services teams of SPS Commerce Business Analytics. Approximately 30 headcount and growing total department size.
Drive project completion and turn projects from “in-queue” to “billing”.
Drives continuous improvement of implementation systems and processes, following plans that are aligned with and appropriate to the scope, scale and priorities of the company.
Ensure proper controls and documentation is in place on Implementation activities.
Monitor marketplace to ensure best practices are followed.
Develop and enhance performance metrics for service delivery.
Measures and reports on the quality and timeliness of customer implementations.
Allocates resources to ensure: 1) customer (supplier and retailer) satisfaction, 2) work order completion, and 3) project efficiency.
Collaborates with the Product, Operations, and Business Development groups in order to respond quickly to customer needs, including enhanced service offerings such as reporting applications, web portal enhancements, and retail analysis applications, as well as supporting customer’s needs.
Promotes collaboration among staff members and between departments.
Establishes departmental budget and directs capital expenditure and asset allocation.
Interview candidates to join rapidly growing team in roles ranging from project management to technology oriented roles.
Performance reviews of the teams.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree in business (concentrations in IT or Operations) or computer science.
At least 15 years of progressively responsible management experience in a technical/professional services environment.
15+ years’ experience in a successful leadership role, demonstrating strong organizational skills including the ability to plan, direct, organize, prioritize and execute.
Well developed communication and business management skills.
Ability to translate and clearly communicate business issues and technical information to individuals with varied levels of expertise.
Project management including Waterfall and Agile methodologies
Familiarity with the EDI, SQL, and Business Intelligence
Leadership skills reflective of an entrepreneurial and innovative thought process.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Familiar with the Microsoft and MicroStrategy technology stack
Exposure to Retail or Point of Sale data metrics is a plus
Budget management and oversight
