Job description
HR Director to be based out of our corporate HQ in Irvine, CA within a rapidly growing retail company. This Director will lead the company’s HR function and assist the company in its growth nationally. This is an important leadership position with a high degree of interaction with senior executives including the CEO. We are looking for a HR Director with strong organization development and talent recruiting experience. They will lead programs to promote a culture of innovation and high performance through effective people management, recruiting, coaching and career development. A successful candidate will drive a comprehensive talent strategy and will enable the company to attract, develop and retain the necessary talent to achieve business success globally. 8-10 years of progressive HR leadership experience as well as leadership experience in a high growth, retail company.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities -
• Annually reviews and makes recommendations to Executive Management for improvement of
company's policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.
• Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and insures company's
compliance.
• Responsible for company compliance with Federal and State legislation pertaining to all personnel
matters.
• Communicates changes in company personnel policies and procedures and insure proper
compliance is followed.
• Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of company
wage and salary program.
• Coordinates and/or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.
• Consults with legal counsel/VPs as appropriate, and/or as directed by the CEO on personnel
matters.
• Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their
responsibilities on personnel matters.
• Recommends, evaluates, and participates in Staff Development for company.
• Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets company personnel information
needs.
• Supervises the staff of the Human Resources Department.
• Participates on committees, and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
Additional Duties And Responsibilities -
• Accomplishes all tasks as appropriate.
Salary Range (Based on experience):
$80-$100k + Benefits
Desired Skills and Experience
10+ years of HR experience
HR experience in the retail industry with a multiple location company
Wireless industry experience a plus, but not necessary
Strong knowledge of compliance and current employment law necessary
Knowledge of wage and hour laws and experience with commissioned employees
Experience with ADP Workforce Now 5.0 or later - strongly desired
Experience with training employees for HR compliance, especially sexual harassment training
Willingness to handle all aspects of HR administration
Strong communication skills
Desire for a challenge
