Director - Product Management - Velossent - Atlanta

Job description
Growing data protection platform company has a growth need for a Director of Product Management.

As their Director of Product Management, you will be the business owner of the data protection platform's lifecycle, driving success from the initial discovery phase to market launch. This is a high impact and high visibility role that involves working with many different parts of the organizaiton including product management, marketing, engineering, operations, and sales.
Define product requirement documents for current and future products based on market research and competitive analysis;
Embrace and teach others Agile;
Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all internal stakeholders to ensure successful execution and product launch;
Gather and analyze market trends and customer requirements, perform competitive analysis, define strategy and tactics, author business plans, market requirement and product requirement documents and prioritize features;
Build and communicate product vision and capabilities to customers, field and partners and help create marketing collateral;
Must be adept at forecasting, pricing, positioning and managing product transitions.

Desired Skills and Experience
5-10 years of high tech experience with at least 4 years of Product management/marketing experience
Must have strong verbal, writing, and presentation skills, including ability to interact and work directly with customers and sales.
Experience managing complete Product life cycle from inception, launch to End of Life
Education: BS or BA in engineering, science, or business strongly preferred. MBA or MS in a technical field is a plus. Formal product management training and security certifications are also a plus.
