Procurement Process and Simplification Director:

Specifically, your role will be to lead a small, but elite, team in prioritizing process changes through business case development, and working with other teams within Microsoft who own some of the processes and tools. In partnership with other internal teams, you will also develop metrics aligned to the business needs to objectively assess process quality.

Key roles/responsibilities:
The Procurement Process and Simplification Program Director will be responsible to fully understand and analyze existing Procurement processes and tools, implement changes to best support end users, and support the ongoing management of select program and tools. This position will have full accountability for end-to-end change, including:
•Opportunity identification and pursuit
•Business case development and ownership
•Project planning and management
•Resource (internal and supplier) sourcing for solution support
•Change management
•Implementation
•Ongoing program and/or tool management (for select processes and tools)
•Leading and managing a small team (~2-3 employees)
•Identify and develop roadmap of Procurement Process, Policy, and Tool changes necessary to create the most effective procurement experience for Microsoft stakeholders

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities needed:
•Strong leadership capabilities to deliver results through cross-functional, interdependent teams
•Ability to motivate team members to deliver high-quality results in an agile, culturally diverse environment
•Passionate about opportunities to establish new approaches and the ability to effectively challenge status quo
•Confident, self-aware and able to build trust and credibility with peers and stakeholders quickly
•Deep engagement and partnership building experience globally
•Prior experience with driving process simplification and/or improvement in a large, complex corporate environments

Minimum requirements/experience/etc:
•BS/BA degree plus minimum five (5) years business experience in Program Management, Process Design, System design, Change management, and/or Procurement and Sourcing . MBA preferred.
•Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement with a specific focus on both user experience improvement with output enhancement
•Deep skills with Visio and PowerPoint. Basic skills in Excel for business case analysis.
•Procurement process experience and Strategic Sourcing experience is a plus
•Analytical and strategic problem-solving capabilities in finance and business subjects; strong business acumen
•Excellent communication and presentation skills
•Management experience preferred
