Job Description
The Biomedical Imaging Group within Genentech is seeking a motivated and experienced Sr. Research Associate with a background in optical imaging relevant to in vivo applications. Our optical imaging base includes Bioluminescence, Near-Infrared fluorescence and 2-photon in vivo microscopy. These technologies will be utilized in combination with other imaging modalities, such as MRI, PET and ultrasound, to address fundamental questions of disease (i.e. neurodegeneration and oncology) modeled in vivo and evaluate novel therapeutics.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will develop, implement and manage imaging programs utilizing 2-photon in vivo microscopy. Techniques utilized will range from basic molecular biology and in vivo microsurgery to advanced image processing and analysis. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively in both independent and collaborative environments.
Skills
We are seeking an individual who is scientifically driven, creative, rigorous and collaborative. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology techniques, imaging and in vivo microsurgery applied to studies in neurobiology, tumor biology or immunology. A PhD or MS degree with experience in a relevant field is required.
