Job Description
This leadership position is responsible for driving strategy and achieving results in the global Cisco Consumer Sales Operations organization.
This role has a significant impact on the business, as decisions are made that affect over $1B in annual sales for the company.
This position works closely with all International and Americas sales leaders on project roadmaps and execution. This person is also a critical interface point between global Consumer Sales and Legal, Business Development, Sales IT, Channel Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Product Management, Finance and Accounting.
Responsibilities include:
1) Lead, motivate and inspire all direct and indirect subordinates
2) Drive continuous improvement in all global sales processes; including goaling, sales compensation and sales reporting
3) Deliver reliable, scalable world-class sales systems and tools that enable our sales force to achieve or exceed goals
4) Optimize all customer-facing tools and interfaces, such as reseller partner programs and portals
5) Ensure that all global partners are in
compliance with Cisco Consumer guidelines for reporting of inventory and POS information
6) Manage all suppliers, review contracts and ensure the external Cisco Consumer Sales spend is optimized for maximum value, including setting up QBRs and SLAs as appropriate
7) Drive the Consumer refurbished and discontinued products business by maintaining team focus and new partner development
Candidate must be an energetic self-starter with 14 or more years of relevant business and management experience, who is adept at leading change. A keen understanding of global consumer markets and regional selling practices is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, along with the ability to quickly “separate the wheat from the chaff”. Needs to understand the details while comprehending the “big picture”. Must possess creative problem solving instincts, analytical capabilities and collaboration skills. Meeting management and group process facilitation skills are required. Prior experience with Sales Reporting and Optimization software, such as Crystal Reports, Business Objects, Cognos, Oracle Business Intelligence, QlikView and/or Salesforce.com, is preferred. Must demonstrate a strong desire to learn our business and become an active participant on the Cisco Consumer leadership team.
BS/BA Degree in Management, Business, Marketing or Finance is required. An MBA is highly desirable.
Skills
Candidates must have a minimum of 8-10 years experience working for high volume consumer products (electronics highly preferred) companies that sell through the retail channel.
