Regional Managing Director at Principal Financial Group


Job Description

Responsibilities:
The Principal Financial Group is seeking top talent to join our team as a Regional Managing Director in our Portland Business Center. With your experience in managing a successful agency in group, life and disability insurance products and business owner solutions combined with our Powerful Resources, it's a partnership set for success!

As a Regional Managing Director, you will be responsible to help drive top line growth through your actions and expertise in the following:

- Recruiting both inexperienced and experienced advisors to the Business Center
- Driving a high performance culture through coaching and staff development
- Cultivating a profitable business center through strategic direction, business development plans and recruiting programs
- Achieving positive and consistent production and growth
Skills

Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have experience in managing and building large sales units within the financial services industry specializing in the small to medium sized business markets. In addition, candidate will be required to meet the following:

- BA or equivalent, including 4-6 yrs business related experience including sales and management.
- Must have strong leadership, planning, strategic thinking and financial management skills.
- Must have strong and demonstrated ability to recruit, select, train, manage, lead and supervise a diverse group of managers and producers to meet the goals of the region.
- Must have broad knowledge of sales techniques, as well as regulations governing insurance and security sales.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills, as well as good presentation skills
- Must be able to develop and maintain community relations as demonstrated by being well networked in the community
- Must be able to build relationships quickly
- Must have appropriate state insurance license.
- FINRA Series 7, 24, 51 or 53, 63 and 65 or 66 or equivalents or be able to obtain these within a specified period of time and be a Registered Representative with Princor.
- Travel required (10-15%)

Additional preferences include candidates who have the following designations:

-Chartered Life Underwriter/Chartered Financial Consultant (CLU/ChFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Leadership Fellow (CLF) designations.
