Job Description

Associate Director/Director* Marketing, CNS New Products


The Associate Director/Director Marketing, CNS New Products, will build and lead the teams responsible for development of US commercialization plans, market preparation activities, and strategic brand planning of multiple products for the CNS portfolio. The Associate Director/Director also provides strategic direction into global clinical development, lifecycle planning, launch planning, and business plans for phase II and phase III compounds.

*Candidates qualifying at the higher level of Director will normally demonstrate both the minimum and preferred selection criteria for the role, or beyond.

Example Duties and Responsibilities:
* Oversees analysis, modeling, and forecasting for all CNS pipeline products; responsible for ensuring approved US revenue and investment forecasts are reflected in global business plans;
* Collaborates with internal partners/stakeholders and provides leadership guidance and direction;
* Leads development & implementation of long-range business plans, Launch Readiness Reviews (LRR) and Apollo launch planning, 3 year brand and 1 year tactical plans;
* Provides strategic direction and US guidance into global lifecycle and international business teams through IDCP process (integrated development and commercialization plans) target product profiles (TPPs), annual lifecycle plans (ALPs), and annual marketing plans (AMPs);
* Develops the market preparation and launch marketing plans, including positioning, messaging, and campaign development; responsible for appropriate and effective implementation of pre-launch programs
* Establishes strong relationships with thought leaders within the CNS therapeutic area
* Plays an important leadership role in keeping the organization informed of research and development, and commercial developments within CNS;
* Develops and manages a large marketing budget
* Hires, develops, and oversees the work of direct and indirect reports
* Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern the conduct of GNE activities
* Business travel, by air or car, is required for regular internal and external business meetings

Qualifications and Experience:

* Bachelors Degree (Marketing, Business Planning, Biology, or Life Sciences discipline preferred)
* MBA or other related graduate-level degree is preferred;
* Average of 8 or more or more years work experience (12+ preferred), including management experience;
* A minimum of 4 years previous product marketing experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or other related industry with a track record of progressing to higher/more senior product marketing roles & responsibilities;
* Experience in the CNS therapeutic area is strongly preferred; ideally within schizophrenia and/or Alzheimer's disease states;
* Experience in prelaunch marketing, market planning, or related discipline is strongly preferred;
* Experience in market planning, and/or market research in pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industry is strongly preferred;
* Experience in sales and/or sales management in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is strongly preferred;
* Experience with managed care and other payer groups is strongly preferred;
* Experience working effectively and collaboratively with global commercial teams is preferred;
* Must demonstrate strong knowledge of the US legal-regulatory environment affecting appropriate prelaunch activities such as publications, advisory boards, conventions, healthcare provider interactions, promotion, training, and other market preparation programs;
* Must demonstrate some past experience with, and knowledge of, the drug development process (pre-clinical and Phase I - IV), as well as strong knowledge of product development processes, including regulatory affairs and clinical operations;
* Must demonstrate previous experience in, and strong abilities for, establishing relationships with key opinion leaders and other relevant, external influencers
* Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding financial and/or other quantitative targets, as well as qualitative goals, for larger-scale product marketing organizations
