Director - Audience Analytics - IDG TechNetwork - New York
Job description
IDG US Media’s Digital Media Group (DMG) is looking for an innovative Director, Audience Analytics to manage our new Analytics team in providing analysis and reporting for an internal client base.
Using tools such as Omniture SiteCatalyst, Google Analytics, and Chartbeat, the Director, Audience Analytics will provide insights and objective reporting to stakeholders from across the organization. This role is responsible for analytics implementation design, tagging, and testing; the creation of custom dashboards and automated reports; prioritization and management of ad-hoc analyses and reporting to cross-functional business partners; focusing the organization on meaningful metrics; and evaluating new analytics platforms and solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Leveraging data from our audience analytics platforms to define, analyze and communicate key cross platform user metrics and user behavioral trends, providing regular reporting and site performance data support along with timely pro-active recommendations to key stakeholders.
Ensuring the accuracy of data reporting while managing data and reporting pulls of varying size and complexity; prepare regular (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly) written analysis and presenting findings and pro-active recommendations to internal non-technical stakeholders with clarity and appropriate depth.
Managing the relationship with analytics vendors and drive a vendor selection process for new analytics products
Providing technical support to internal and client teams around analytics tagging and data validation
Coordinating Quality Assurance and testing activities to ensure accurate data capturing
Working with business stakeholders, develop KPIs designed to monitor and improve site features & traffic goals.
Desired Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of expertise in user analytics preferably at multiple platform news or content-focused websites and a demonstrated track record of excellence specific to growing multiple platform traffic and deepening engagement at news or content-focused websites.
Expertise in web analytics and social monitoring platforms and a demonstrated successful track record in leveraging a wide range of data to inform audience development strategies and tactics.
Expertise in web analytics implementation and applications throughout websites; track record of completing projects including data pulls of varying size and complexity for editorial, business and product teams on aggressive timelines; experience in performing quality checks to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
Demonstrated ability to leverage data to troubleshoot, identify patterns, and generate creative new approaches to audience development strategies, tactics and creating data reports for a non-technical audience.
Mastery of web analytics platforms including Omniture, Chartbeat, comScore, Google Analytics, and others; advanced Microsoft Office skills with expert Excel knowledge (e.g. complex calculations, pivot tables). Experience with Omniture and other analytics platforms a plus.
Commitment towards delivering outstanding business results and user experience a must
Familiarity with agile SCRUM methodologies and best practices
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Team player and consensus-builder, accustomed to working with a variety of stakeholders
Experience with managing a team.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, mathematics, statistics or business with an emphasis on Information Systems.
