This role is both HR Business Partner (HRBP) for several global client groups within Pfizer’s Global Product Development (GPD) organization and is the also the Talent and Organization Capability Lead for Global Product Development globally. Individual works closely with other HRBPs, Senior Leaders and Senior Leadership Teams across GPD to design and execute the Pfizer and GPD People Strategy. People Strategy includes having the right leaders and talent in the right roles, developing a vibrant pipeline of talent, and shaping a culture within GPD that creates value for patients and stakeholders and enables GPD to maintain leadership in the Industry. This position will be key to driving the culture development process and working with business leaders to build organizational and leadership capability and a sustainably effective organization.
Pfizer’s Global Product Development (GPD) organization is responsible for transforming molecules into medicines that have the potential to enhance and extend the lives of patients around the world. GPD is responsible for all late-stage drug development activities from Phase 2 through to regulatory submission and for delivering high quality, efficient and well-executed clinical trial programs across Pfizer. GPD is made up of approximately 3000 colleagues, in 50 countries, with development projects across Oncology, Inflammation & Immunology, Internal Medicine and Rare Disease.
Responsibilities
Gain insights and knowledge to understand assigned client’s business needs through active engagement with leaders and colleagues
Develop actionable insights and employs vision and creativity to develop and implement people and culture actions and plans that deliver sustainable results
Provide individual and HR functional leadership as a member of the GPD Sr. Leadership Teams for assigned functions; ensures planning and actions strongly link organizational, business and people strategies to the delivery of business results
Work with leaders to initiate and implement optimal organizational structures to accomplish business objectives and engage and leverage talent;
Work with business leaders to drive engagement and change in the GPD culture – in full alignment with the Pfizer culture
Ensure the make-up and people practices of client leadership teams are strong and effective;
Coach leaders and leadership teams to drive business objectives
Understand the mission and science of GPD and drive key human capital strategies that advance the business objectives
Provide input and strategic thinking into the development of GPD wide HR strategies and plans
Collaborate with HR Leads, HR Talent and Organizational Capability experts and GPD leaders to develop strategies and plans to establish and enhance GPD leadership and organizational capability and capacity
Lead the planning, resourcing and execution of agreed HR strategies and plans ; accountable for managing the delivery of agreed plans and outcomes within agreed timeframes
Build and sustain collaborative relationships across HR and other partners lines to ensure clear communication and effective well-coordinated execution of a portfolio of projects
Act as HR focal point for the planning and coordination of major change initiatives within and across GPD
Lead the planning and coordination of annual talent planning and culture activities across GPD globally
Collaborate internally and externally to identify opportunities and trends that can inform and improve GPD organizational capability and capacity
Lead special projects as assigned ; ensures internal metrics and scorecard are updated and accessible
• Periodic travel required (up to 25%)
Qualifications
12+ years HR generalist and/or Organizational effectiveness with experience and a demonstrated track record of success in a business partnership and consulting capacity
BA/BS/BBA in Human Resources or related field required
MBA, MA in Organizational Development, Human Resources Management or related field desirable
Consulting experience a plus
Strong general business interest and acumen combined with a track record translating business strategy to operational delivery
Strong evidence of both strategic and hands-on leadership orientation
Demonstrated ability to work across different cultures and with a variety of leaders from different backgrounds and experiences
Excellent knowledge and hands –on experience in the practical application of change management, organization design, talent & performance management and operational planning
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with business leaders to successfully develop and implement people, culture and change programs
Demonstrated ability to take risks, make independent decisions and objectively evaluate people
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
Excellent interpersonal/influencing skills, including the ability to effectively coach leaders, build relationships and leverage resources within the function and across the organization
Demonstrated success in planning and executing complex plans in a highly matrixed global organization.
