The New York Times’ T Brand Studio is looking to hire Strategy Directors based in our San Francisco and New York offices.
You have deep traditional & digital media experience and have worked with creative and production teams to create customer experiences both on and offline. Your insights lay the foundation for our team’s greatest ideas and help our clients create relevant and engaging experiences
You will be able to articulate your ideas to your colleagues effectively and will take on board the ideas of others. You will partner with our sales team to develop long-lasting partnerships and client relationships. This role is highly client facing, and in collaboration with our advertising sales leadership, will lead key client partnerships.

Partner with our Ad Sales Leadership to define a strategic vision for a client(s)
Inspire clients by that vision that, in partnership with our creative leads, results in sold media plans and creative productions (AR/VR, events, proprietary digital products newsroom partnerships, influencers, etc).
Dynamic presenter, able to engage senior level clients and build a strategic narrative for each media plan and creative production solution.
Able to recruit uncommon talent
Translate our strategic recommendations into actionable digital products, services and experiences
Insight and idea generation with the ability to judge those ideas for their distinctiveness, relevance and effectiveness as well as ability to perform against client KPIs
Develop quarterly industry and brand specific trend reports that foster inspiration but also drive towards practical applications and executions for our clients.
Strategy, Team & Client Leadership
Partner with Sales, Creative and Production leads to ensure our strategic recommendations and ideas can be creatively expressed.
Proactively build strategic, media-led presentations to our clients to uncover or define latent opportunities.
Guide a strategic concept through completion, handing off to partner disciplines (Creative, Production, etc) as needed.
As a close partner to the Sales team, you will support day-to-day requests across varying existing clients and new business opportunities.
Work with internal teams on the strategic and creative development of T Brand proprietary content.
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
12 years of experience with a digital, communications or consulting background
A creative thinker who has a portfolio that demonstrates the ability to sell and execute ideas based upon strategic insight.
Understand how business, brands and customers interact, with a deep knowledge of the role that technology plays in this relationship
Can clearly and persuasively frame and communicate strategic recommendations to senior audiences, both internally and externally
Team player with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage people across multiple projects under high pressure
A track record of building strong lasting partnerships and foster teamwork that leads to repeated client business.
Previous agency experience with knowledge of how to navigate a media-led organization
Familiarity with designing and implementing measurement plans.
Subject matter expert in one or more of the following industries: CPG, Business/Finance, Technology
