Control the necessary levels of components, work-in-process, and finished goods to support desired levels of customer service consistent with financial objectives for assigned categories.
Directly supervise Managers, Promotional Planners and Sr. Planners as assigned, ensuring policies and procedures are followed in supporting their categories.
Oversee the preparation of short and long range production plans.
Maintain a liaison with Customer Service, Forecasting, Marketing, Production Operations, Finance, Research & Development, Quality, Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Information Systems, Human Resources, International Group, Production Scheduling and suppliers to ensure site and company objectives are met.
Implement organizational policies which result in maximizing personnel development, achieving organizational goals, and improving processes.
Ensure that the Materials Management systems and databases are maintained, and participate in ongoing changes, development and upgrades as deemed necessary.
Develop cycle stock and safety stock parameters to maintain the appropriate inventory level in support of customer service and inventory turns objectives.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of ten years experience in Materials Management, with at least five years in a Manager or above position.
Hands on experience with computerized manufacturing systems (MRP II) and a working knowledge of Just-In- Time inventory systems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in consumer products industry.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Capable of interfacing with senior management.
Must have excellent people skills.
