Leads the design (architecture and interior design) on select service and extended stay new-build, conversion, and adaptive re-use projects, which include managed, franchised and company-owned hotels, to ensure quality control, brand compliance, cost effectiveness, and operational acceptability.

Leads the Architecture & Interior Design Team, with effort focused on educating, guiding and influencing customers in regards to hotel brand products and services.
Responsible for the Hotel Development Committee presentation to key executives.
Partners with Brands to provide innovative and cost-effective solutions to drive the business needs of the brands in support of their strategic growth goals.
Leads the design for the respective brands, for both prototypical and custom designed facilities giving a solid pipeline of sustainable projects.
Supports department leaders and functions as backup in their absence.
Represent the division/MI, both internally and externally, on projects to senior representatives.
Make presentations to senior leaders and owners to gain their approval of design recommendations.
Provide leadership, management direction and guidance to relevant internal and external team members to ensure that they have the necessary information to complete their responsibilities.
Partner with business unit leaders to market and sell the assigned brand to key new and existing owners/franchisees to expand brand recognition and promote development opportunities.
Represent the company at the highest level as the face of the hotel brands at conferences, trade shows.
Develops strategic relationships with owners and franchisees to promote and influence MI design services and philosophy.
Act as liaison and point-of-contact for owners and franchisees to ensure excellent service and problem resolution.
Advice and update owners and franchisees regarding brand design standards and initiatives.
Liaison with developers and Operations to negotiate property brand assignment.
Continually monitor current business processes, makes recommendations and implements approved changes are required.
Responsible for development and adherence to department and project budgets.
Analyzes and aligns department resources equal to associate skill sets and workload requirements
Responsible for selecting, negotiating and contracting with project consultants, directing and supervising their work, and administering their contracts, approving payment requisitions, etc.
Obtain approval of funding from Owners, developers and/or operations, and ensure work is clearly authorized and proper procedures are being followed.
Support Project Management during the construction phase to maintain quality, budget and schedule.
Assist in the development and implementation of departmental procedures and policies.
Provide day-to-day review of team members’ professional performance and provide input for their improvement and career development.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Key Skills/Requirements:
Minimum 15 years design progressive experience including 10 years’ experience on hospitality projects
Knowledgeable about innovation & trends both in & outside of industry
Excellent business acumen

Education and Professional Certification:
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited Architecture, Interior Design, or Construction Project Management program
Architectural license or NCIDQ required
Professional association membership preferred
Strong background in architecture, interior architecture, and FF&E
