As the Events Director, you will work closely with the SAP SMB Team Marketing Communications Lead and SMB Team Product Leads to collaborate on how events can play a role in achieving business goals. You’ll partner with your colleagues from across the team (including product management, product marketing, AR, PR, executives, marketing leads) to lead a dialog and develop a strategy on the type of events that will help achieve business goals. You’ll drive the creative development and execution of the agreed upon event strategy aligned to goals.

Generation of sales qualified leads
Accelerating the sales process
Demonstrating the impact of events through pipeline and closed business
Development of a differentiated client/prospect/influential event experience that positions SAP as a thought leader
In this role you will be responsible for:

Developing the event strategy for the SMB Team
Establishing our events dashboard to quantify ROI of events
Leveraging technology to extend reach and engagement showcasing SAP as a leader in digital transformation. Proactively seek to integrate digital experiences with the physical experience and/or create digital first events.
Leveraging external partners and associations to enable a different type of dialog with prospects or reach a new type of client.
Collaborating with the Global Marketing teams in integrated marketing planning to help shape the way events are leveraged in line with goals. And help drive activation of event content to ensure it is available through all forms of digital and social media.
Collaborating with SAP Global Events teams across countries in order to scale a global SMB events strategy and operational methodology.
Managing agency partners to aid the optimum planning and delivery of events
Ensuring an effective process for capture of business leads at events and closed-loop calculation of the pipeline of leads is accurate.

Articulating the vision of Events Strategy to business unit teams creating enthusiasm and champions among the extended teams.
Managing and coach team to create a high performance organization

Ideal Candidate Profile

The idea candidate will possess strong leadership skills to help focus on the largest opportunities to make the most impact. This position requires a strong balance of strategic thinking, creativity and innovation, detailed planning, strong operational and analytical skills in addition to the following:

Integrated Marketing Communications experience to inform the role of events within the mix
Savvy with latest digital marketing approaches
Experience in leveraging creativity to drive business value is a must

Solid understanding of the SaaS market and its related metrics
Ability to track and measure standard performance KPIs
Experience Requirements

Minimum 7-10 years in marketing leadership position
Minimum of 3 years in event strategy and management experience — from large scale events (tradeshows, sponsorships, proprietary events) to smaller more intimate events (executive forums, hosted dinners, advisory summits, etc) and digitally based events.
Strong track record of results
Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
