Director of R&D Engineering for Services will be accountable for leading and coordinating multiple R&D teams consisting of application development, QA/test, DevOps, Sustaining Engineering, UI/UX, Agile development (scrum) and others. This position leads the build, delivery and maintaining of industry leading visibility service applications running on Zebra’s platform. This leadership role will manage the technical R&D roadmap and on-time delivery of service visibility applications.

The applications developed by this team gives our customers, partners, and professional services valuable dashboards, operational status and insights into assets and associated data. The candidate should have Director level experience in developing and supporting modern cloud based SaaS systems. The primary objective of this role is to deliver go-to-market applications running on Zebra’s visibility platform. Excellent large technical team management and delivery skills are required.
Responsibilities

· Lead multiple R&D engineering teams to deliver world-class visibility applications and solutions using Zebra’s asset visibility platform
· Manage and drive delivery using the Agile Methodology
· Ensure on time, on quality, and on budget delivery for multiple application streams
· Foster an environment of innovation and resolve barriers not aligned with innovative development
· Continuously research and evolve best practices in continuous software delivery, tools and techniques
· Manage parallel delivery schedules, multiple product work streams, multiple internal and external customers and relationships
· Manage global teams, including off-shore teams and contractor augmentation teams
· Understand and ensure the Zebra security policies and ensure enforcement across the R&D teams
· Work cross-functionally with other Zebra technology leaders and teams to create outcome based applications

Qualifications

12 years total experience in engineering, software, IT or related discipline
Minimum 5 years management experience
Experience managing large contingent workforces (temp / contractor labor) strongly preferred
Experience leading globally based teams, with emphasis on India highly preferred
Strong communication skills (up, down and across) critical to role
