We are looking for analytics leaders to drive insights for our core Product experience with a passion for e-commerce to drive informed product decisions for eBay. You will have regular exposure to senior executives in the company and an opportunity to share and present your insights to influence decision making at the highest levels. The perfect candidate will have a background in computer science or a related technical field, ability to hire and mentor a talented and outstanding team of analysts. You will be focused on results, have an ability to present complex analysis in a clear, articulate manner and have demonstrated success in using analytics to drive product decisions and actions in prior roles. This position will report to the Head of Product Analytics and will be based in office San Jose office. Responsibilities: ● Mentor and inspire a talented team of analysts. ● Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our buyers and sellers interact with our products. ● Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities. ● Mine massive amounts of data and extract useful product insights that can have a transformative change to our product experience. ● Develop analytics frameworks, models etc. to support and measure key product launches on eBay.
Job Requirements:
5+ years of experience in managing other team members in an analytics leadership or
similar roles.
● 8-10 years experience in doing quantitative analysis, preferably in a technology
company.
● Experience with large data sets and with SQL or similar programming languages.
● Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
● Ability to communicate the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner.
● Basic understanding of statistical analysis, experience with packages, such as R,
MATLAB, SPSS, SAS etc.
● Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, or related
quantitative field. Advanced degrees preferred, but not required.
