The Director of Enterprise Architecture is responsible for leading the program to develop, maintain and govern the enterprise architecture (EA) across the organization, which includes defining the EA and associated architectural review process, and leading the integration of those processes with related business and IT processes. Further, this role is responsible for the overall design of the enterprise information architecture, across multiple data types (structured and unstructured), balancing the need for information access against security and performance requirements.

The Director of Enterprise architecture will lead the creation and evolution of a technology road map that defines current technical architectures and future architectures. They will assist in building an architecture that meets the company's business needs, maximizing business value derived through technology resources while providing the most efficient and secure IT environment possible.
The Enterprise Architecture team works across the enterprise in several capacities to ensure that technology is optimized to support the business. Along with managing the enterprise architecture, they bring extensive business and technical experience to the initial design and planning of a project to assist in designing solutions that will work effectively within business, technical and security constraints. They evaluate and select strategic technical platforms for production use. They work across business and technology teams to help facilitate effective communication and act as independent facilitators for review of the merits of competing ideas.

Lead the evolution of the enterprise architecture function/program through the development of the Enterprise Architecture and IT Strategy aligned to business goals, drivers, and strategies; drawing on knowledge of current and possible future business trends, policies and practices, and the competitive landscape.

Lead the creation and evolution of the enterprise data management practice which includes master data management (MDM), data architecture, metadata management, data integration and analytics requirements.

Lead and facilitate the creation of governing principles to guide EA decision-making.

Lead the alignment of the business analysts, solutions analysts and integration teams with the enterprise architecture strategy and business goals.

Ensure technology projects achieve maximum interoperability and efficiency.

Maintain a forward-looking perspective on emerging technology developments and their relevance to business and technology strategies.

Lead analysis of the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.

Oversee the evaluation and selection of EA standards.

Consult with infrastructure and application development project teams to fit solutions to architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate infrastructure needs.

Lead the development and assessment of new concepts to support the business strategy and provide recommendations to leverage technology for competitive advantage, internal efficiency and improved service.

Responsibilities:

Overall design and implementation of the enterprise architecture. This scope includes SAP components and other integrated applications.

Define core technical infrastructure design, standards and strategy for business applications

Participate in the design, architecture and implementation of business application solutions to ensure that design outcomes best leverage existing solution components and maximize the business benefits;

Engage and consult with customers and business stakeholders to understand and scope end-to-end requirements

Provide advice to teams regarding application landscape and IT infrastructure requirements of business systems
