We are looking for a (Senior) Executive Communications Director who is seasoned in corporate communications, has long-standing experience in advising executives and other senior leaders on communications strategies and messaging and is a high-level expert in building communications plans. Owning the executive comms agenda of the Executive leaders who are based around the globe.
Working in close collaboration with the subject matter expert teams such as Media Relations, Social Media, Industry Analyst Relations, Governmental Relations and of course Employee Communications.
Advancing the visibility and the impact of the Executives both internally and externally
Ensuring seamless, coherent and timely messaging from the Executives to all stakeholders inside and outside the organization
Developing the Executives as approachable, active and engaging communicators by acting as a strategic partner for HERE leaders
Leading the Executive Comms team (4FTE, including yourself). The team is responsible for the creation and carefully planned execution of effective Executive Communications strategies, guided by HERE’s head of Executive & Employee Communications and the overall Corporate Comms agenda.
The role is based in Chicago. You will yourself be supporting the American Executives based in Chicago, Seattle and the Bay Area, i.e. the COO, the CTO and the CHRO. In addition, you will oversee our team members supporting the other LT members based in Chicago and the Valley, i.e. the heads of Strategy, Planning & Alliances, of Corporate Development and of Legal. You are also overseeing the team members supporting the European Executives and LT members.
The ideal candidate will combine a wealth of experience in the executive communications field with the ambition to develop this further in a modern and innovative, global tech company.
Reporting
This role reports to the head of Executive & Employee Communications, HERE
Qualifications
You should have a minimum of 12-15 years of executive and corporate communications experience, ideally in a tech company and/or in a communications agency. You must have very strong written and verbal communications skills and must be a known team player and collaborator. In addition, you:
Have a university degree
Have team leader experience
Have excellent message creation, writing and editorial skills
Can partner and debate on strategic and executive level
Is able to identify and vet external speaking opportunities
Have a radar for picking up employee sentiments and interpret them
Can easily identify opportunities for executive interventions and rapid responses in conversations and user generated content
Understands the social media universe and maintains a mix of participation (personally and professionally) among various channels demonstrating authenticity individually and for HERE
Looks for a solution when faced with roadblocks
Has a strong team work ethic and is able to effectively work within a team that is geographically dispersed
Is eager to meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility
Is able to guide external resources and services
