Currently, we’re hiring for a Director of Industry Technology Strategist (ISD) who will be responsible for developing the technology cloud and mobile strategy and architecture needed to drive Microsoft products and services across our partner and customer base serving this important and unique customer. This role will also be responsible for launching emerging and new Microsoft technologies into the Government Industry solutions teams and ensuring these solutions land with the field sales teams and partner communities.

The WW Government ISD is responsible for developing and implementing the global technology strategy for the Government business and landing it worldwide in the field organization and partner channels. This technology leader will drive the successful development of technology plans, industry architectures, and demo systems by working with internal teams, partners, and customers. The ISD will build and maintain senior level business group relationships and aligned strategies for various products and solutions.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and strategic technology leader with experience in technology sales, architecture development, and demo system build-out. This candidate needs to have strong Microsoft product knowledge; have first-hand experience crafting and executing technology sales strategy; be able to deliver go-to-market plans at scale; be a strong thought leader in the area of the government and technology and demonstrate proven ability to effectively manage projects and virtual teams within a highly matrixed environment. The ideal candidate will also have a strong expertise in the Public Sector market.

Deep technical knowledge across many of the Microsoft’s Enterprise product and solution offerings.
Creating and driving technology market opportunity, industry and competitive trends, and defining the market vision and value propositions to determine the appropriate partner strategies to maximize long-term profitability and customer satisfaction.
Developing technology sales strategies and capabilities that scale a fast growing and innovative business designed to succeed through partner adoption as business channels
Experience in working in a globally distributed and complex matrix organization, with the capability to clearly communicate a vision for success.
Delivering strong customer and partner feedback influencing the product management roadmap alignment with the business groups.
Developing and delivering technology compete strategies.
Working at management levels across Microsoft sales, Partner and Business Group organizations to drive the technology strategy of finished industry solutions and successful execution.
Building organizational alignment working with senior management across the business.
Possessing deep knowledge of field and partner sales motion - know how to work effectively with teams throughout the sales and services/support organizations, developing personal relationships with leadership
Representing Microsoft via technology adoption programs and build credibility with the technology, sales, partner communities, customer senior executives, and other business and technical decision makers. Also, representing Microsoft through speaking engagements, keynote speeches, and external technology engagements.

The Director of Industry Technology Strategist (ISD) is managing a team directly and an industry community indirectly to develop and execute a strong joint business plan.
REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES
Candidates must have demonstrated skills and experience in the following areas:
Industry Leadership: 10+ years of strong, proven track record of leading and driving industry business discussion with the C-level Business Decision Makers leading to large engagements. Preference for 4+ years supporting government and/or Public Sector organizations
Technology strategy and implementation with customers and/or partners experience
Technology architecture development and documentation experience
Business Management - experience in rolling out new technologies, solutions, architecture and strategies, with a discipline and rigor to the management of the business
People management: Proven track record of building and coaching high performing diverse teams with great team satisfaction.
Channel / Partner Integration - Enterprise-wide technology integration with partner teams, partner capacity and readiness experience
Organizational Leadership - experience and confidence in contributing to high performance team goals, metrics, program, initiatives, and priorities
Organizational Agility - can navigate a complex organization to reach a goal or objective; is effective at positioning gives/gets and has outstanding executive presence and presentation skills
Education: Computer Science, Business, Marketing, related degree; MS or MBA preferred
