Microsoft’s Corporate, External and Legal Affairs (CELA) group has an immediate opening on its Commercial legal team for a Redmond-based Director of Cloud Assurance. The Director of Cloud Assurance will work with a team of professionals across Microsoft to ensure Microsoft’s cloud services support the compliance, regulatory, and industry-specific needs of its customers around the globe.

-Work with teams across Microsoft to ensure Microsoft’s cloud compliance capabilities are best-in-class for its customers
-Develop comprehensive compliance control-set for Microsoft’s cloud services
-Partner with sales teams to develop go-to-market capabilities that make Microsoft’s cloud services available to new markets and customers
-Work with industry groups, regulators, customers and Microsoft partners to document and evangelize compliance requirements
Successful candidates must have:
-Bachelor’s degree and excellent academic credentials
-Detailed understanding of scale cloud services
-4+ years of experience with regulated products/industries and/or cloud compliance
-Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to present complex ideas to company leaders
-Demonstrated project management skills with complex and large-scale projects
-Ability to balance business needs with regulatory requirements and derive and implement innovative solutions
-A passion for driving business value for customers
-A Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification is a plus
