The Director of Safety Assurance reports to the VP, Chief Safety Officer WDPR Worldwide Safety and leads several organizations aimed at maintaining strong safety strategies in design quality, compliance practices, safety standards, and reliability. The position is executive champion responsible for leading the investigation of incidents and the decision process to determine appropriate mitigations, communication and the tracking of safety bulletins worldwide.

Responsibilities
Operate domestic Quality Engineering organizations with focus on consistent worldwide practices for verification and turnover of attractions
Lead the standards organization for Worldwide Safety promoting efficient standards publication, leveraging industry standards where possible, and understanding the impact of new or emerging internal and external industry standards
Proven technical guidance on the need to issue safety, service bulletins, and notifications for Disney and vendor equipment
Attend and provide guidance in safety review teams for Ride/Show, Facilities, Entertainment and Special Care Parts
Chair the Quality Solutions Partnership, a worldwide community of Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering professionals focused on safety and compliance strategies
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 10 years progressive leadership experience
Proven experience and strong understanding of engineering and safety assurance processes; earned credibility and recognized technical competence among stakeholders
Demonstrated strong business planning skills
Demonstrated strong partnership skills
Proven knowledge and understanding of Walt Disney World and Disneyland policies and procedures
Proven ability to work well with all levels of craft, management and executive leadership
Demonstrated aptitude for practical risk assessment and risk related decision making
Ability to influence across organizations with courage in ambiguous situations
Design experience with ride, transportation, and entertainment machinery and systems
Proven ability to build consensus in a diverse environment
Demonstrated strong presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Proven history of advancement and increasing level of responsibility in ride engineering field
Prior experience in the areas of design and engineering, Imagineering, and/or Quality Engineering
Global experience at multiple Disney sites
Required Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
Florida and/or California Professional Engineering license
Preferred Education
Advanced degree in Engineering
