Job Description:
Responsible for soliciting qualified clients and loan opportunities for income property loan origination that meet the Bank’s credit policies and lending guidelines. Requires a proven track record of sales volume performance in terms of lending for commercial income properties, with heavy emphasis on multifamily properties. Should be an established income property lender with many close contacts with income property investors and brokerage firms.
Must be able to cross sell other Opus bank products and also be able to assist in providing competitive market intelligence to management in order to fine tune product offerings and maintain profitability
Duties And Responsibilities
The Relationship Banker will be responsible for soliciting qualified clients and loan opportunities for income property loan origination that meet the Bank’s credit policies and lending guidelines
The Relationship Banker will work closely with the underwriting and due diligence process and be responsible for analyzing credit requests, identifying credit risks, determining appropriate credit structures and making sound credit decision recommendations
Responsible for adherence to all compliance programs, including but not limited to, completion of all required and assigned training modules by establishing due dates
Understands and complies with requirements of all laws and regulations applicable to position
May perform other duties as needed
Knowledge And Skills
Candidates should possess a track record of sales volume performance in term lending for commercial income properties, with heavy emphasis on multifamily properties
Candidates should be an established income property lender with many close contacts with income property investors and brokerage firms
Excellent credit analysis and accounting skills with ability to analyze and recommend loans that meet the Bank’s credit standards. High quality credit and analytical skills are a must
Must be able to build compelling arguments to support recommendations, maintaining an effective balance between the sales/client objectives, with the need to maintain acceptable credit quality and profitability
Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in both verbal and written forms
Good organizational skills
Ability to assume responsibility and accountability for decision making
Works well independently and with teams
Strong knowledge of commercial banking policies and procedures and relevant regulatory guidelines
Must be proficient in a windows environment, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Education And/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business or finance. Minimum 3 to 5 years income property lending and credit experience required
