Director Product Marketing Integrated Systems VMware Palo Alto
Job description
Product Marketing roles at VMware own or drive the overall plans around product go\-to\-market, pricing and packaging, message/positioning, field/partner enablement, product launches, strategic partnerships, and, jointly with product management, are the “face” of the product to the external world\. This role is focused on bringing an integrated system to market that provides a transformational user experience across both software and hardware\. As a new product, a particular emphasis will be placed on engaging with early customers and rapidly iterating on and improving our messaging and go\-to\-market activities\.
Responsibilities • Own product messaging and positioning, including the supporting content and proof points • Define and execute the thought leadership plans \(timelines, assets, etc\.\) to further bolster industry perception of VMware in this next emerging category of IT • Partner with the Global Marketing team to ensure alignment and leverage their ‘megaphone’ to deliver to market • Work with the sales organization on field and partner enablement while engaging closely with customers • Engage with hardware and software partners on joint messaging and go\-to\-market plans Requirements • Demonstrated ability to develop clear, creative, compelling marketing messages\. Strong written communication and presentation skills are a must\. • Knowledge of key data center technologies including server, storage, network, and management • Understanding of the emerging market for converged and hyperconverged systems • Strong analytical skills including defining, measuring, and analyzing key performance indicators
• 7\+ years of product marketing or corporate marketing experience in a relevant technology sector\. • Bachelors in Computer Science \(or related technical field\) or Marketing/Business\. MBA a plus, but not required\.
