Senior Director - CIO Advisory, Strategic Services, Financial Services - Cognizant - Teaneck


Job description
Help Cognizant expand substantially its market share, brand, and client awareness in Strategic Services to Banking and Insurance’s Executives and CIOs.
Build senior level advisory relationships with existing and potential Cognizant Consulting Clients in the Banking & Insurance verticals; convert relationships with executives into long-term consulting relationships that extend across multiple assignments over time.

Participate directly on consulting assignments, helping to direct the actual consulting engagement and interacting with clients as the senior member of the consultant team. Ensure the quality of the Practice’s work continues to be truly distinctive through Innovative Intellectual Capital Development with a focus on client impact and tangible results; ensure that the kind of work undertaken is both consistent with the firm’s distinctive strengths and attractive to the firm’s consulting staff.
Help recruit, develop, and retain other Strategic Services professionals – both new hires and existing Cognizant consultants who choose to focus on strategic services within Banking and Insurance – to support the firm’s ambitious growth targets for the Practice.
Represent Cognizant before external audiences as appropriate – e.g. media, conferences and recruiting events.
Work collaboratively with other Cognizant practices and geographic regions to ensure that Cognizant continues to operate effectively as one firm.
Possess an affinity for IT.

Desired Skills and Experience
A significant track record of success in consulting to Strategic Services in the Financial Services industry (Banking and/or Insurance) – especially within one of the four sectors in North America – serving leading companies on a diverse set of strategic and operational issues.
At least 15 years of management consulting experience, with a track record of business generation, practice building and on-going client relationships across multiple assignments with most recent experience in IT Advisory to Banking and Insurance companies.
A deep knowledge of the industry and personal relationships with senior leadership teams especially sponsorship by CIOs.
A broad general manager perspective, including understanding of strategy and marketing, operations, IT, business transformation and performance improvement.
Thought-leadership; at least an understanding, if not a track record, of how to develop commercial knowledge capital and build it into the fabric of a practice.
“C-level” experience and presence to represent Cognizant confidently and convincingly among the highest levels of executives and be effective with the Cognizant leadership team.
The ability to work successfully in a flat, collaborative, highly matrixes environment.
