Samsung Visual Display (Smart TV) is looking for a top-notch Engineering R&D Director to help lead the Advertising Platform product development. As an Engineering Director of a full product, you will manage a team of engineers that spans all the way from Big Data to the actual pixel renderings on the TV.

Your team will research, build, and evolve products in the ad tech space, which will be the fuel for software and services development on all Samsung Smart TVs. Not only must the product meet scale and reliability, but also should be developed agile and be flexible to advertiser demands and ad industry dynamics. Furthermore, the team must harbor an innovative culture that balances creativity and audacity to attempt bold initiatives in realizable/measurable units.
The ideal candidate will have a great mix of deep technical acumen in large scale software and online services supporting millions of users. In addition, he/she must have demonstrated leadership and people management skills, as well as develop empathy for end-users. Occasional travel abroad and frequent interactions (remotely or in-person) with Samsung Headquarters in South Korea will be needed.

Desired Skills and Experience
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field
10+ years’ experience in managing an engineering team building products
Deep expertise in software, services, cloud infrastructure, and operations
Experience in building TV-related products is a plus
Experience in building ad tech related products is a plus
Great communication, design and problem solving skills
Demonstrated experience in shipping products on time with quality, scale and reliability
