Director - Design - Gear - Eddie Bauer - Bellevue

Job description
Purpose: To lead vision of Eddie Bauer brand in areas of responsibility with the goal of executing a creative product driven collection in line with business objectives.
Core Accountabilities:
Develop seasonal product concept based on thorough trend/competitive research and overall creative direction
Work with peer group and VP, Design & Creative Director on seasonal direction and monthly product deliveries
Lead the design and execution of categories of responsibility from inception to finished product
Partner with merchandising on seasonal and annual business strategies
Lead and develop a high performing Design Team
Work with the design team to achieve coordinated collection driven by key items and looks for targeted customer

Build effective internal and external partnerships to insure achievement of business goals and creation of the best product for our customers
Provide their team with seasonal outfits, looks for spreads and layouts
Manage team to meet all calendar deadlines in development cycle
Attend production meetings
Accountable for color, pattern, strike off, handloom approval and meeting calendar deadlines

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Highly developed sense of creativity to include color, fabric, silhouettes and trends
Strong presentation skills
Ability to manage a team
Proven technical knowledge, especially in garment fit
Team player with ability to interact with all levels of organization
Education/Experience Required:
Degree in Fashion Design preferred
10+ years successful product design and development experience
5 years managerial experience
