Job description
Resposibilities and Role Summary
eral supervision and control over financial matters for print and digital ad sales within the advertising sales department, including pricing forecasting, and analysis for all publications across Reader's Digest Association
Oversee Ad Sales forecasting and analysis, including ownership of key salesforecasts assumptions (pricing, inventory utilization, performance, volume, etc.)
Lead and define analytical and strategic process.
Significant interraction with Sales, Research, Operations, and CEO, CFO, COO.
Manage a team of ad sales finance professionals
Analyze and manage sales risks and opportunities across the publications
Identify core drivers ofrisk or upside ( e.g. pricing.market volume, etc.)
Work with salesto evelop strategies to achieve ad sales targets
Manage inside and outside rep firm sales objectives and targets, strategies and commissions
Analyze and report out on overall perfomance on an ongoing basis
Strategic analysis of salesand programming initiatives and RFP's
Work with Ad Sales Leadership on core sales functions
-Inventory/capacity utilization and analysis
-Pricing initiatives, analysis and forecasting
-Client and category mix, targets and analysis
-Development of rate cards, special unit pricing and ad hoc sales
Oversight of key finance functions including accruals, general ledger accruals, and accurateness of the ad sales process
Serve as business partner to both Sales Leadership and Divisional and Leadership
Monetization strategies
Marketplace strategy and analysis
Desired Skills and Experience
MBA or Equivalent
11-15 years of finance experience preferably in publising and sales
5+ years of experience managing a finance team
Strong Excel skills
Understanding of advertising sales and its relationship to financial performance
Ablity to work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
