Director - Consumer Marketing Programs - Financial Engines - Sunnyvale


Job description
The Director of Consumer Marketing Programs will develop breakthrough multi-channel marketing programs to drive consumer engagement and enrollment across our portfolio of products and services. The ideal candidate is a hands-on marketer with a track record of category-leading results across online and offline channels, including search, display, email, social media, and direct mail. The role demands both the sensibility of a brand marketer and the data-driven, entrepreneurial smarts of a growth hacker to build a next-generation model for consumer engagement and acquisition.
This individual will build a high-performing team of consumer marketers with direct accountability for generating engaged users and enrollment at the lowest possible customer acquisition cost. Reporting to the VP of Consumer Marketing, this newly created role is a key member of our marketing leadership team and will be a visible partner to both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
Develop consumer segmentation and brand/product positioning, in partnership with internal Consumer Insights and Brand teams
Lead the development of an end-to-end consumer touchpoint map and communications strategy
Develop, execute and measure multi-channel consumer marketing programs, including direct mail, email, search, display, social, branded content and event-based marketing
Analyze and refine marketing programs to improve customer acquisition cost

Build a high-performing marketing team, including recruiting and talent management
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to incorporate their insights into our work and influence key partners (sponsors, providers, etc.) to continuously improve our communications

Desired Skills and Experience
10+ years of consumer marketing experience in progressive leadership roles
Proven track record of delivering results in a high-growth environment
Hands-on experience with customer acquisition and digital media, including search, display, social, email and affiliate channels
Ability to effectively drive integrated marketing programs cross-functionally from inception to execution
Proven ability to attract, select, develop and retain a high-performing consumer marketing team
Strong understanding of consumer brand strategy, with the ability to drive segmentation, positioning and creative development across consumer products and segments
Excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills in a matrixed organizational environment
Entrepreneurial self-starter that gets excited about rolling up their sleeves and digging into the work
Experience marketing in regulated environments; financial services experience preferred but not mandatory
