UX Director - Deutsch - Los Angeles

The Experience Design team at Deutsch is looking for a seasoned leader within our UX group. We are looking for a highly creative thinker with amazing design craft to join a world class UX practice within an integrated agency.
With over 200 employees in our digital department, and over 60 developers, we are committed to investing in a high tech, high concept approach to building amazing digital work and our UX team is a critical part of our success.


We are looking for candidates who combine an ability to think creatively and conceptually about big, meaty problems and translate those insights into thoughtful, original and groundbreaking designs. We are looking for a mix of great craft and standout concepts. We think about Experience Design holistically from the physical world to the digital and wherever those two things interface.

What you’ll do here

Provide thought leadership, management and and mentorship to the UX team
Evangelize and define the UX practice internally and for clients
Lead concepting and ideation around products and services
Lead multi-discipline teams on major platform and service design projects
All the usual UX documentation, wireframes, flows, prototypes, sitemaps, etc
User research and insight, usability studies, persona development
Trend landscaping and competitive analysis
Trendspotting and thought leadership for digital products, services and user experience tools and practices.

Desired Skills and Experience
The director we want has
An amazing portfolio of standout work
8+ years of UX experience at a top digital agency, tech company or startup
Previous management experience for a mid size to large UX team
An expert level of craft and knowledge of design tools such as InDesign, Keynote, InVision etc
Great communication skills and the ability to explain your ideas and sell them
A great cross-discipline collaborator who can work in an agile environment
Ability to independently handle a major project/s with minimal oversight
Bachelor's or post grad degree preferred in a design-related discipline: Interaction, Information or Interface design; Human-Computer Interaction; Graphic Design; Communications.
