We’re looking for a motivated, self-directed individual who is capable of leading in the development effort for the delivery of Contact Center related applications. As a Development Director, you'll be a key member of the team that is responsible for building and maintaining applications and interfaces to Expedia’s contact centers.
The Contact Center Technology (CCT) team delivers integrated software and hardware solutions allowing all of Expedia’s customers and partners to contact us for assistance as they travel around the world. You would be a critical part of a growing team using the latest technology to improve our customer experience across voice, web, and mobile platforms, empowering millions of travelers to enjoy their perfect trip.
Responsibilities

Lead the development team and be responsible for design, user experience analysis, development and deployment efforts for Voyager, a key initiative for our Telesales and Service business.
Is a SME, acts as a group wide advocate for quality coding and best practices in an iterative, agile manner
Collaborate directly with our Business Partners, Technical Program Managers, Test Engineers and Production Support Engineers to implement technical requirements
Mentor development and support teams by guiding development standards and insights into system architecture
Set clear goals and lead collaborative achievements
Independently understands scheduling, cost constraints, and impact to other teams; Make resource and architectural trade-offs based on those factors.
Anticipates and prevents problems and roadblocks before they occur. Presents technical issues and their impact to management.
Effectively builds and maintains a network of key contacts across company and leverages these contacts to achieve results.
Demonstrates proficiency in most areas of the professional function and in-depth specialization in some.
Has a comprehensive understanding of the organization's current software applications and tools and in-depth knowledge of programming languages and systems important to the organization.

Qualifications:

Excellent organizational, communication, and technical skills
Knowledge of Java/Spring or C++ and C# preferred (does not need to have coded recently)
Ability to learn quickly, master our existing systems and identify opportunities for improvement
Self-starter that enjoys and takes pride in the development work of their team

Work Experience and Education Guidelines:

A minimum of 7 years of previous development experience
7-8 years of experience in leading development teams
A BA/BS degree in technical field or related discipline required
Experience in managing teams that develop both front and server-side components desired

Core Competencies:

Design and Development in large scale web applications.
Experience with Design and Development of large Web Applications
Experience leading development teams (onshore and offshore)
