Job Title: Storage Consultant
Travel Requirement: 100% (Monday through Friday)
People within Infrastructure Outsourcing are responsible for the day-to-day provision of long-term outsourcing services to one or several clients. Infrastructure Outsourcing (IO) is the ongoing management and/or improvement of activities related to a part or to the whole of a technical infrastructure (e.g. information systems, security systems, telecommunications networks), allowing companies to focus on their core business and competencies.

The Storage Consultant is responsible for leading the definition and design of solution architectures, conducting the analysis of alternative architectures, creating architectural standards, defining processes to ensure conformance to standards, instituting solution-testing criteria, defining a solution's cost-of-ownership, and promoting a clear and consistent business vision through technical architectures.
Position Responsibilities:
The Storage Consultant is responsible for implementation of technical architectures, conducting the analysis of alternative architectures, creating architectural standards, defining processes to ensure conformance to standards, instituting solution-testing criteria, defining a solution's cost-of-ownership, and promoting a clear and consistent business vision through technical architectures.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• 4 years experience IT Technical Consulting experience focused on data center technologies in storage, backup, recovery, and/or data.
Professional Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• Designing and implementing storage, backup / recovery and/or data management solutions.
• Designing scalable storage and backup / recovery architectures for critical business systems.
• Design and deployment of advanced computing and storage technologies, e.g server virtualization, storage virtualization, etc.
• Exposure to Hardware Platforms (Unix/Wintel - HP/Sun/IBM etc.) and Operating Systems (Windows/Unix/Linux)
• Some combination of the following skills:
o Designing / deploying Information Management Lifecycle solutions
o Data center (including application and data) migration / consolidation.
o Datacenter/Server/Network Operational Components (Monitoring, Management, etc.)
o ITIL concepts
o Application/Database rationalization design/implementation
o Asset Management (Experience with tools/process)
• Planning future storage capacity
• Implementing disaster recovery processes and procedures
• Maintaining problem tracking and resolution at a detailed level for service requests
• Performance tuning of servers and related systems
• Writing scripts for automation of tasks
• Experience in project management and detailed technical planning
• Supervisory experience including demonstrated leadership to grow and develop other people
• Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
• Generating detailed documentation
