Job Description
This senior manager role will be working within Citigroup's GTS business, specifically with the Securities and Fund Services. This role will help shape and deliver the technology for the new and exciting offering of Citi's Alternative investments administration and Middle Office Services. These services include Fund of funds, hedge funds, Alternative Investment transfer agency, Portfolio accounting, trade support, daily reconciled P&L, OTC services, cash administration, collateral management, risk reporting, corporate actions and other value-added services that hedge funds would benefit from. This role will work closely with the product head as well as the operations head in defining the product capability as well as the operational flow. The individual will report into the global head of Investor technology and will be required to interact with vendors, other Citi entities as well as hedge fund clients.
Responsibilities include tightly managing a $10mm+ budget and 50-100 staff members in multiple locations including offshore partner vendors. Work closely with Technology, Business and Operations in defining the core hedge fund service offering. Manage a team of technical integrators, developers and business analysts to deliver and manage a middle office technical platform - Responsible for evaluating platforms that will build the core offering. - Responsible for business requirements gathering & documentation, completion of high level analysis and solutions for projects. - Strong skills in developing workflows and technically designing/integrating solutions
Skills
• 15-20 years of overall experience 10 of which must be on the alternative investment space.
• Strong knowledge of the Alternative Investments space, specifically in the functions of middle office services.
• At least 10 years of management experience in large technical engagements.
• Ability to understand the Business direction and help translate that into a technical solution
• Experience with working in a large back and collaborating/negotiating with multiple partners
• Technical experience in integrating solutions and driving the bigger picture of an architected solution
• Highly analytical and process oriented
• Strong communication and management skills
• Strong attitude to drive results
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong documentation/software lifecycle experience.
• Attention to Detail a Must.
• Expertise in the hedge funds or Prime Brokerage business is essential
Demonstrated capabilities designing and positioning a high-capacity, flexible platform roadmap, aligned and supporting business plans which takes into account market trends Deep understanding of the hedge fund (back, middle office in particular) business. Solid understanding of the front-office business process. Experience creating and managing large, global platforms incorporating best-of-breed systems from in-house as well as vendor-based products which align with the roadmap Management experience with global developmental teams Experience leveraging on-shore/off-shore development models Expertise in vendor application development and integration management Experienced in execution-driven delivery within short-time periods, while maintaining appropriate control and risk management structures
