Facebook is looking for a leader for our Infrastructure Data Center Sourcing team. In this role you will be responsible for leading a team of sourcing leaders and professionals who support the design, qualification and sourcing of advanced technologies in Facebook's data center infrastructure space. You will own commercial relationships with the supply base and be responsible for sourcing alternatives, balancing best cost, and speedy delivery of systems and products without compromising quality. You will have one of the most technically and commercially versatile jobs as areas of focus will include but not be limited to: General Contractors, critical electrical and mechanical equipment and a wide variety of construction related and operational services. More than specific subject matter expertise, the successful candidate for this role will be highly adaptable, be able to glean advanced technologies in short order and have sound commercial skills in the areas of contracts, negotiation, sourcing and supplier management.
Create a 5-year strategy spanning talent, sourcing, systems, processes and tools which will enable the deployment of world class data center infrastructure
Hire, develop, and lead a team of sourcing professionals that are responsible for commercial ownership spanning sourcing and qualification of new suppliers, negotiations, quality assurance, and supplier management in the data center space
Lead the development of unique sourcing strategies for Facebook’s Data Center R&D initiatives and construction road map
Lead the negotiation and procurement strategy of developing mission critical equipment, commodity, project deployment, operations and service agreements
Enable the development of should cost models to achieve best in class pricing
Specific to supply chain, perform resource and capacity planning to assure scaling to meet evolving build and retrofit requirements
Drive supply chain alignment among internal and external stakeholders and find creative ways to overcome obstacles to ensure delivery of quality, schedule, and cost goals
Develop and implement key performance indicators to track progress to key metrics & goals
Highlight and drive opportunities for significant operational improvements and drive high impact initiatives with measurable results
Identify and champion key data center sourcing tooling needs and priorities
Establish the data center sourcing team as the leader for all commercial engagements in the supply base
Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to scale the data center sourcing team in support of the long-range plans
Up to 20% travel required to review and coordinate various initiatives with onsite personnel and vendors
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline
10+ years leading teams with experience managing managers
10+ years of experience in a mission critical construction and/or procurement and engineering environment
Proven experience negotiating with and the commercial management of general contractors, sub-contractors and equipment manufacturers
Proven experience moving strategy to execution and deliver results while managing multiple tasks
Experience interfacing with suppliers
Experience influencing and providing impact with cross-functional teams
Proven interpersonal and communication experience
Analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational experience
Preferred qualifications
Engineering experience in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical systems, subsystems
Advanced technical degree or MBA
