The role reports in to the CMO of eBay Germany and will be located in Dreilinden (Berlin). The right person will thrive in a fast-paced environment and can move quickly as a builder and doer. The Marketing Director will lead a team of 15-20 and will ultimately be responsible for delivering world-class campaigns for our core C2C selling platform and for B2C Seller Marketing.
Strong partnership will be required with our channel leads based in Zurich for CRM and an operational team located in Prague. The role ultimately also has responsibility to develop and create a compelling C2C marketing strategy focusing on our core categories and vertical markets. They should drive a holistic marketing strategy across all the channels and bring together one plan by partnering across the region and leveraging the existing team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for alignment of retail planning and on all planning capacity with global growth.
Align DE and EU marketing programs with overall marketing and business strategy, global brand, and global communications.
Drive E2E marketing plan for key customer segments.
Create and drive strategy for vertical and trading campaigns including C2C
Leverage channels effectively via email, notifications, in app marketing, coupons, social and deliver of ATL (via the ATL team).
Puts eBay back on top of the consideration set for new and existing buyers in Germany. To include a focus around eBay PLUS and retail deals.
Ability to create and manage a marketing plan for the year that can align tactics for acquisition as well as retention that fits within an evolving business landscape.
Supervising the implementation of campaigns, ensuring the designs and messages meet the company brand and legal guidelines.
Driving the development of integrated marketing plans, including the identification of target audiences and the crafting of messaging frameworks.
Develop and implement multi-channel marketing to generate traffic, customer retention, and revenue.
Function as both a leader and an operator.
Align with and support partnerships organisation.
Understanding of how to use creative to fit a strategy and brand guidelines.
Build, manage, and mentor a strong team.
Serve as a spokesperson as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Extensive leadership experience of managing a team of approximately 10.
10+ years integrated marketing experience required.
Ability to own and drive hundreds of marketing campaigns every year.
E-commerce experience essential.
International business experience preferred.
Direct experience in planning and executing data driven marketing.
Experience in building, leading, and managing strong teams.
Ability to interface with executive management.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Exceptional business and strategic acumen.
Ability to solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in balancing the needs for localization and a global brand.
