Facebook seeks a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as its Law Enforcement Outreach Regional Director based in the United Kingdom. The position will be responsible for managing the EMEA regional team in developing and maintaining strategic relationships with law enforcement authorities, government agencies with an Internet safety and security focus and related industry coalitions. The position will also oversee tactical responses to events related to the law enforcement community in the EMEA region. This position is a full-time role located in London (UK) and would entail frequent travel in EMEA and other locations overseas.
Manage and lead the regional team to develop and maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement and government authorities
Work closely with the legal and public policy teams on engagement with law enforcement authorities, regulators and legislators on online safety, security and law enforcement issues
Craft regional strategic plan and ensure timely execution
Plan and execute educational programs for law enforcement authorities on our policies for protecting user privacy and responding to legal requests
Oversee the development and execution of policies relating to the processing of legal requests from law enforcement authorities
Coordinate with internal investigation teams to develop and refer relevant matters to law enforcement authorities
Work closely with Facebook’s Legal Team and outside counsel in responding to governmental requests for data
Work with internal teams and global safety organizations to develop and enhance safety awareness and other safety related issues in the world
Support launches and different initiatives being driven across platforms
Minimum Qualifications
University degree or equivalent
Minimum of 15 years of experience working with law enforcement authorities at international level
Prosecution or criminal investigation background or experience in a similar Internet safety and security role is preferred
Technical knowledge and experience related to cyber crime and online investigations
Experience in processing legal documents (e.g., civil and criminal subpoenas, court orders and search warrants)
Experience with European law relating to law enforcement requests for data
Extensive experience working with data protection authorities, financial institutions, and Internet industry associations
Comfortable in a fast paced, dynamic, start-up culture
Willingness to respond to and support emergency matters, interacting with globally based company employees
Strong public speaking and presentation skills
Ability to frequently travel within the region and the United States
Fluency in English required. Fluency in additional language(s) preferred
