As the UI Platform Director at Oculus Research, you will be focused on creating core interaction hardware and software for next-generation AR/VR devices. You will build and lead a team of hardware and software engineers, product managers, and program managers in the development of hardware and software interaction devices and user interfaces. Collaborating with the Platform Research Director to shift innovations from long-tailed research into v-next releases, you will develop a product cycle roadmap over an extended release horizon, and lead the development of each release. You will further collaborate with peers to ensure each UI platform release is integrated into the larger product vision.

In partnership with the Platform UX Director and Platform Research Director, you will design and define target usage scenarios, and lead the design and innovation of software and hardware products to enable them, ultimately delivering user interaction products for release. The ideal candidate is an individual with a passion for user experience, who has experience leading the development of software and hardware products with transformative UX. This is your opportunity to produce to design the ‘full stack’, including defining hardware and software, its specifications, form factor, industrial design, interaction design, and experience design, in collaboration with world-leading research and product development teams.
Responsibilities
Build and lead a team of product managers, software and hardware engineers, and program managers to envision and realize the future of interacting with computing technology
Collaborate with the Oculus Experiences team to refine and select supported scenarios
Partner with Platform Research Director to incorporate cutting-edge interaction technologies into products
Collaborate with Platform UX director to ensure an effective product release.
Lead the delivery of product-ready devices for internal testing and external release
Collaborate with directors in other areas of the organization to ensure a cohesive product release
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of general technology management experience
5+ years experience delivering a hardware product
Experience managing multiple ongoing projects
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a start-up environment
