TRMS is looking for an experienced technical leader that can drive forward-looking strategy, roadmap, and execution in two critical areas – Data Science engineering and Investigations engineering. You will lead our Data Science engineering team to build self-service solutions that enable ML scientists to ingest enterprise-level data and draw insights, experiment at scale with an ever-evolving array of features and ML algorithms, and perform risk evaluations in real-time at Amazon scale. You will also lead our Investigation engineering team to build software platforms and tools that thousands of human investigators worldwide use to evaluate risk 24x7. In this space you’ll collaborate with human investigators, Operations leaders and Product/Design teams to deliver innovative solutions that allow human to make high-quality decisions that preserve customer trust. Our big vision is to build a virtuous feedback loop that allows machines to learn rapidly from human judgment so we can adapt faster to meet rapidly evolving threats.

An Engineering Director at Amazon combines extensive expertise in software development with strong organizational leadership and high judgment. You will own a lot, and must be able to operate with ease at all levels - you must be able to develop and articulate vision and strategy, and also readily dive deep into the details on business, operations and engineering. We are looking for a leader who combines entrepreneurial thinking with disciplined execution, and can inspire an organization to excel.
Basic Qualifications

Bachelors in Computer Science/Engineering
12+ years of industry experience building mission-critical software
7+ years of industry experience managing managers
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven track record of hiring and developing high-caliber talent

Preferred Qualifications

Masters or PhD in Computer Science
Experience in large-scale distributed systems and big data solutions
Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals
