Warner Bros. Digital Networks Inc. seeks a Director, Financial Planning & Accounting for the Digital Media Sales Finance department. The Director Financial Planning and Accounting will support three verticals under newly created business unit Digital Networks Inc. which include Digital Media Sales, Ellen Digital Ventures and studio wide YouTube clip monetization. Individual will support very fast paced, constantly changing environment, high visibility area which includes the monetization of multiple Digital properties such as TMZ, Stage 13, DramaFever, Machinima, Ellen Digital Ventures, Extra, DC Entertainment and YouTube. Position will oversee and manage day-to-day functions of finance area comprising of five (5) total employees located in Burbank.
The Director has oversight of functions directly related to financial planning and analysis (budgeting, new asset acquisition thru due diligence, financial modeling), sales support, procurement, contract administration, general office administration and ad hoc analysis as required. In addition, the director oversees the day-to-day accounting functions for the group, both internal delegation of workload and external communication to other Business Unit’s and Corporate accounting counterparts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Play a primary role with invoice processing, purchase order and vendor creation/maintenance across multiple company codes.
Performs essential accounting close responsibilities, including preparation, analysis, and review of account balances and by-title cost allocations and reporting.
Calculate, journal and report episodic revenue allocations for partner deals such as YouTube/ Zefr.
Primary liaison to outside accounting, auditing and procurement.
Review accounting team members Journal Entries and post.
Performs monthly Operative One (CRM) billing vs. SAP variance reconciliation to properly account for and report on revenues recognized outside of the billing system. In conjunction with reconciliation, analysis is performed to categorize and report revenues by Sales Team and type.
Manage new client request forms.
Run D&B stats for new client.
Manage client credit check process by calling on references and documenting comments.
Identify process efficiencies and articulate improvements to VP.
Reach out to past due clients as necessary.
Work with WB legal and Corp. if client is non-responsive.
Manage and book quarterly bad debt expense.
Work with Sales Account Execs to help with client communication and response.
Manage the financial planning and forecasting function for Digital Media Sales.
Partner with the division stakeholders to develop financial analysis, models, budgets, and forecasts to optimize business decisions.
Acts as sales support liaison supporting the Digital Media Sales department staff:
Prepares weekly National Sales Pipeline preparation, analysis and submission (when Manager of Finance is not available).
Provides various analysis and reports stemming from sales group (Year-over-Year comparisons, Sales Person yield management, Advertiser/Agency analysis).
Prepare and manage quarterly sales targets.
Analyze performance and recommend changes to Incentive Pay Plan.
Prepare the official Statement of Operations, monthly Gross Revenue pacings, and By Title Reporting which are used as tools to guide decision making at a high level:
Reports are high profile and are distributed to and President, Digital Networks Inc., EVP Digital Networks Inc., SVP Digital Media Sales, EVP WBTVG Finance, EVP Business and Legal Telepictures and SVP Finance Telepictures.
Create cash flow projections to be included in various BU financial packages.
Manage robust internal finance databases to be used in monthly internal and senior management financial reporting.
Prepares monthly revenue and cost variance explanations.
Identifies process improvement opportunities and assists with implementation efforts of financial reporting projects/initiatives (Enterprise Planning Project – EPP); this is a team approach and process improvement.
Assist in preparation of quarterly and ad hoc financial state of affairs presentations to Executive Management on all ad supported matters.
Prepare third-party Ad Sales revenue share payments, statements/reports, and corresponding journals (i.e. AOL, Rhythm, YouTube, Splash, etc.):
Includes monitoring of Parts Payable liability accounts to keep track of revenue share obligations
Wireless/mobile revenue and cost tracking/reporting/recognition:
Review, collection, reconciliation of third-party revenue statements and cost invoices. Posting of revenue and expense items to the ledger for monthly accounting closes.
Includes preparation of Wireless Revenue detail cash receipt activity for Participation & Residuals dept (quarterly).
Monitor payments received from third party ad networks and resolve payment issues when needed.

JOB-RELATED QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance required.
CPA or CPA candidate highly preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Excel required.
Advance knowledge developing & utilizing pivots and lookups on Excel required.
General knowledge & understanding of accounting principles required.
Thorough knowledge of the general ledger closing process required.
Understand the principles of accounting (GAAP) required.
SAP or other ERP system experience required.
Understanding of “Studio System” and/or Entertainment Corporate Culture.
Approximately 12 to 15 year experience performing the job duties of this position is required.
Prior Entertainment/Studio experience preferred.
CPA or CPA candidate highly preferred.
Must be able to pay attention to detail.
Must have ability to succeed in a team environment.
Must have ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently.
Must be able to handle multiple projects, tasks and data points.
Must be able to work with members of Digital Senior Management.
Must be comfortable speaking in front of large number of employees during presentations and weekly sales calls.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
