The main business capabilities we are building are:
1. Order capture ( the equivalent of SAP’s Order Management module for our direct business)
2. Order Management ( the equivalent of SAP’s Order Management module for our direct business)
3. Entitlements management ( the equivalent of Siebel’s capabilities for our direct business)
4. Entitlements consumption ( does not exist in the market place, we are pioneering in this space.)
5. Recurring Revenue Management ( the equivalent of Zuora)
6. Entitlement consumption Data Management
7. Partner Web Services Platform for License, Price, Order and Entitlements Management

Autodesk is seeking an Engineering Director of Platforms to join Enterprise Applications & Engineering Platforms and be part of the larger Enterprise Information Services team.

We are responsible for delivering capabilities that support our new subscriptions models. We ideate, plan, build and run the foundation for Autodesk’s $2.5B+ business and must be able to scale with Autodesk’s growth to $5B and beyond.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of engineers and software architects responsible for various enterprise platforms (Web Services, Data Platforms, and Licensing Platforms)
• Design for customer experience that includes product functionality, marketing messaging, commerce and nurturing
• Work with the Forge platform teams to understand how we can support them
• Own and manage technical debt and security vulnerabilities
• Own your team’s technical strategy and roadmap in close collaboration with other engineering managers
• Work with your team to help understand requirements, evaluate new features and architecture and help drive decisions
• Build collaborative partnerships with software architects, technical leads and key individuals within other functional organizations
• Build and foster a high performance engineering culture, mentor team members and provide your team with the tools and motivation to make things happen


Requirements:
• Previously managed global teams of engineers with ownership of high scale, production systems
• Proven ability to manage and resolve complex and ambiguous technical issues
• Expert experience with Scrum and agile development processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field
• Engineering Experience with:
o Open source: Java, Ruby, Node.js, Elastic Search, Cache

o Deploying applications on PaaS like AWS, Heroku

o SaaS applications like Salesforce

o Building API’s, Web Services and securing them

o Application monitoring tools, log analytical tools, security tools like Dynatrace, Splunk, Apigee

o Order Entry, Entitlement, User Management applications and processes

o GitHub and Jenkins

o Large data volumes and applications that need to support 100’s of TPS
