Manage the communications and strategy team in developing and delivering full-service and integrated communications plans and tactics for internal clients. Manage the digital and social media content team, whose efforts support the broader advocacy and pro-business agenda of the organization.
Provide leadership for the strategic communications and digital content and social media teams, set the direction and priorities, and guide team members as they build relationships with internal customers; lead regular meetings to help teams deliver objectives, manage their performance, and structure editorial direction; direct communications activities around the Chamber’s Campaign for Free Enterprise and serve as a key member of the Free Enterprise.com leadership team; oversee the team that develops and executes America’s Small Business Summit; work with internal clients to draft and implement long-term strategic plans around their programs, including all promotional elements (content generation, social media support, advertising, marketing, Web, and media); identify opportunities to leverage the Chamber’s communications properties to support clients’ strategic agendas and vice versa; work cross-divisionally to ensure consistent Chamber branding and message effectiveness.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years’ related experience with public affairs or PR agency experience; excellent leadership skills with at least 3 years’ leading and managing a team; strong project and editorial management and a content marketing background; experience working on complex political and business issues and developing unified messages; excellent written and verbal communications; creative self-starter and a big-picture thinker; ability to multitask under tight deadlines; strong organization; the ability to effectively interact with senior-level executives and outside contacts and vendors; and proficiency in MS Office products and social media platforms. Prior experience in a trade association or advocacy environment preferred.
