The Director, Infrastructure Architecture will provide HP’s technical vision, technology and roadmap to create industry-leading infrastructure to deliver world-class solutions that support our business solutions. Responsible for developing and maintaining current and future state business architecture and design and overseeing implementation of end-to-end integrated systems, delivering architectural initiatives that drive revenue and improving efficiency in line with business strategies. Resides in the Infrastructure team and focused on compute, storage, networking, and cloud services focused.
The Chief Architect will lead team of senior architects that serve the business in delivering solutions for HP IT. In addition, the architect would guide senior management team with strategic technology decisions and resource allocation.
The ideal candidate requires an in depth knowledge of the IT industry best practices, technologies, architectures and emerging technologies with a proven track record of architectural programs. The ideal candidate will possess a balance of business acumen, be technically competent, collaborative, hands-on self-starter with strong communication, leadership and organizational skills.
The ideal location will be in Austin or Houston, TX.
Essential Functions:
• Provide architectural direction to the company to leverage IT trends.
• Develop and maintain current and planned state architectural blueprints.
• Create plans to integrate business systems and workflows in support of business strategy.
• Develop and enforce best practices for master data management and integration.
• Develop cloud based solutions involving multiple vendors.
• Provide architectural consulting to programs, projects and initiatives.
• Partner and support IT Development teams
• Act as the focal point for enterprise architecture and IT standards
• Initiate and deliver technology evaluations and recommendations.
Other Job Duties:
• Deliver requisite program documentation including program charters, schedules, requirements documents, specifications, design documents and testing strategies.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technology degree required; MBA preferred
• 10 – 15 years of experience engineering distributed systems running across multiple environments.
• Understanding of product design for complex systems and enterprise platforms.
• Evangelist of HP story with a passion for the customers and partners
• Passionate for nurturing and developing exceptional architects, engineers, teams and solutions.
• Proactively take on and drive resolution to the hardest technical challenges that the business faces.
• Proven track record of leading architectural roadmaps
• Strong attention to detail, analytical capability, and excellent verbal and written communications
• Ability to effectively work with and influence others and act as a change leader
• Ability to operate independently and collaboratively
