Job description
Position Summary
The Director of Fabrication is responsible for the oversight and on-time delivery of ROV and TMS frames, ROV and manipulator components, and spare parts. In addition, the Director of Fabrication will be responsible for significantly improving efficiencies according to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost (SQDC) principles and continuously developing people through a Toyota Production System (TPS) approach.

Essential Job Responsibilities
Strategically positions the organization while holistically driving TPS implementation throughout the fabrication processes.
Translates and effectively deploys site strategy through Hoshin Kanri.
Collaboratively creates and aligns fabrication organization to accomplish strategic company goals.
Oversees and manages the fabrication of machined parts, ROV and TMS frames, and spare parts.
Collaborates across company departments and functions to ensure site on-time delivery.
Develops and manages annual fabrication department budget and operating expenditures.
Determines and manages labor requirements and production capacity.
Oversees warehouse delivery to Davis.
Manages facilities, maintenance, and special construction projects associated with the Shingle Springs location.
Oversees Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering.
Develops strong managers and employees while holding them accountable and rewarding them for strong results and management.
Drives organizational capability, high performance and alignment across the organization.
Cultivates influences and partners with key internal and external stakeholders to establish and maintain positive and collaborative relationships.

Desired Skills and Experience

Minimum Requirements
Ten to fifteen years of progressively increasing responsible in manufacturing and leadership
Ten years of direct supervisory plus a minimum of five years of operations management experience.
Advanced knowledge of TPS or Lean Manufacturing methods and operations management with excellent results across multiple industries.
Proven record in applying TPS or Lean Manufacturing methods in a low volume production environment.
Strong leader/manager with record of establishing excellent people, systems, processes and performance indicators.
Excellent verbal skills with proven record of articulating vision and motivating organization through frequent employee engagement meetings as well as one-on-one engagements.
B.S. degree or equivalent experience/background in engineering/manufacturing.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Seven to ten years of machine shop experience.
Solid understanding of ERP systems
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hand and arms to perform repetitive motions
May work on concrete floors, wearing steel-toed boots and protective eyewear
Frequent standing, sitting and walking
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
